[link]As many of you know I have worked very hard on building up my skills in photography. This has been difficult as I have M.E and can manage much less physically than most people - I can only manage photoshoots a couple of days a week and work on editing on other days. But Im passionate, determined and stubborn, so I push myself to my limits. But I have done well, gaining awards with the SWPP. becoming a runner up in pet photographer of the year for two years running and even securing the job of shooting the Asian campaign for the Canon 600D last year. I have had recognition in UK national newspapers, photography and photoshop magazine and have even been featured on South west news.
But all this has been done on a budget, as I cant work full time. Any money Ive made has been put straight back into buying equipment. But I feel that I have outgrown my camera and lenses, I really need to start using professional equipment, which I unfortunately cannot afford.
I also want to start up my own photography business, but again I have no way to fund this. I have managed over time to buy a couple of studio lights and back drops, aswell as speedlights for outdoor use, so I am part way there. My plan is to buy a Canon 5d mark 3, and a 70- 200 lens to enable me to photograph weddings etc. To set up a permanent studio above my partners shop for studio portraiture and to improve the facilities I have for reptile photography workshops. Once up and running I will be running weekly workshops in pet photography, aswell as taking bookings for portraits - including baby portraits, family, corporate, models, fashion etc.
So I am asking for help. If you think Ive got what it takes to turn my skills into a business then please do help by donating - and spreading the word.
